This ranks as one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken. The hotel was excellent, the included activities were varied, educational and fun, the food was good, the spa was excellent and the shuttles we used were pleasant and safe. I never got the feeling that I had to hurry. The down time was very pleasant and it gave me a wonderful opportunity to get to know the amazing women I was touring with. Beth was a fantastic guide, as was Peter (local guide). And, I was not 100% on board with the idea of vacationing with a group of people I didn’t know. Boy, was I wrong! The best part was getting to know the other women in the group! Kelly S.
The hotel was beautiful, the food was incredible and the guides were all very knowledgeable. I appreciate the kindness and stories of kick-ass women so much more. It was a wonderfully inspiring trip, both from a fellow female traveler perspective as well as the women we visited on the tour. I loved loved loved this trip! Brava to the women who helped pull it together! I will be back on another one, most certainly! Rachel E.
The trip far exceeded my expectations. I have to admit, not having signed up for a tour before, I was a little concerned about how it would go. I did not expect the depth of knowledge and professionalism we experienced. All of the local guides were engaged, insightful and instructive. So often, you can sense a jadedness and condescension among tour guides that is a turn off, to say the least. I returned to Seattle wanting to know even more about Santa Fe and that’s the way it should be (at least in my opinion). Of course, for me, the real “take away” was the story of the Native Americans in that part of our country. I have a renewed appreciation for who they are, the struggles they endured and resilience they have – quite remarkable! I appreciated the opportunity to meld with the other group members and get to know them. The group dynamics were great and it was an extra bonus to connect with each of them. Mary F.
I would change nothing about this trip – loved it! Annie E.
I am recommending WanderTours! The food angle is what drew me in and it did not disappoint!! We saw unusual sites and had the perfect amount of down time. Carol L.
I have been to Santa Fe a few times before, but the depth of the guides and experiences exceeded anything I could ever do “on my own.” Marianne M.
Beth was a “Whirlwind of Wonderful!” I wish I had her energy. Carole B.
I learned on tour that I enjoyed Santa Fe more than I had anticipated and that I had been craving the company of intelligent women. Carolyn P.
After participating in the Santa Fe Culinary Tour, I know that I would love to take more trips with Beth. Cathy D.
The Santa Fe trip was amazing and I had the best time. Beth put together a fantastic trip with a good balance of touring and down time. Highlights for me were dinner at Lois’ (of course) and tamale making at the School. Now all I need is a sous chef and I will make tamales on my own. Alice B.
Participating in a tour was not what I expected and this tour makes me want to take more tours. Mo F.
Beth puts together such a well thought out awesome trip. I enjoyed learning the culture and history through such passionate people as Roxanne Swentzell, Chef Martin Rios, Lois Frank and Walter. Darlene E.
Amazing tour! The emphasis on culinary menus unique to the Southwest Indians and their ancestry diet, the dinner at Chef Lois Ellen Frank’s home, learning hot to cook tamales, shopping, a GREAT group of ladies, and some amazing chocolate far exceeded my expectations. Lindy W.
I enjoyed the pace! It was just the right amount of activity vs. down time. The people were also amazing. It was lovely having everything taken care of and not having to plan things myself. I also enjoyed getting behind the scenes access and definitely our dinner at Lois Ellen Frank’s home! What a treat!! And Beth’s attention to detail – the cookbooks she gifted, the $10 to spend at the farmer’s market, the fruit she hand delivered to my room♥️. I also loved our hotel! I very impulsively signed up for this trip and I’m SO glad I did. I had an absolutely wonderful time! It was exactly the reset I needed. I’d now love to do something like this every year!! A BIG thank you to Beth, my new friends on the tour, Teresa and WanderTours. You are all stuck forever in my ♥️ now 🙂 Sabina S.
Beth definitely puts a lot of thought and research into each trip and it shows. We get to experience things that we would not get to do on our own. I enjoyed meeting the staff at the cooking school and also visiting the home of Chef Lois Ellen Frank and staff and the delectable food (our final dinner – what an incredible experience). Marian M.
I loved the lunch on the day of the wine tasting – the food, the host/owner, the setting. I liked the overall pacing of the activities on this trip and the option to take the hotel shuttle as desired. The trip “advertised” was just what was delivered. It’s a great option for someone seeking a well-rounded, casual visit to Santa Fe. Jennifer C.
I really enjoyed the group of less than ten people. The pace was relaxed yet we got to see and do a lot of things that were off the beaten path. Almost everything we did was unique and special. Anita M.
I enjoyed the history walking tour, the tamale making, meeting the staff at the cooking school and visiting the home of Chef Lois Ellen Frank with her staff and the delectable food. It was more than worth the cost as it was evidenced that a lot of time and effort was expended to make the trip most memorable. Bettye R.
Beth is an absolute gem. She is sweet and was very attentive, always making sure everyone’s needs were met. The tour was wonderful; every guide along the way was well informed, willing to share, and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend Beth and her tour company. Ingrid B.
I enjoyed the connected theme of looking at the Native American diet, the cooking class and the dinner at Lois Frank’s place. Anne S.
One of the best culinary tours I’ve been on. Marie J.
The itinerary was well thought out and paced. Beth managed to corral us gently and firmly (not easy with 15 lively women!) and gave us clear directions and information. She showed concern and care for every member of the group. Eve T.
Thank you, Beth, for everything you did for us. I loved my vacation, which was educational and lots of fun. The excellent amenities at the Hotel Santa Fe contributed to a wonderful trip and lots of memories. Continue the excellent work you do. Maria P.
I took the New Mexico culinary tour and LOVED it! It was everything and more than I anticipated. I have been telling all my friends about WanderTours and giving out the website. Thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to going on another trip next year. Ann W.
This was a great trip and I really enjoyed the smaller group size. It seemed more like a group of friends on an outing rather than a tour group. Kim H.
