I’m a True Traveler (capital letters intentional). Well over 50 countries. Luckily, traveling is one of the best things I do. Two years ago, Beth told me that the trip to Papua New Guinea with WanderTours would be my best. Of course, I was skeptical. But guess what? She was absolutely right!!!! When people ask me which of my many international trips I consider my “best,” I still say, unequivocally, Papua New Guinea with Wander Tours! Tribal culture, birds and plants and animals, a little intimidation (not too much), beauty, history, costumes, singing, dancing, language – all – well, not merely “interesting” – more WOW, spectacular! So, don’t hesitate! Just go!!!!! Phyl C.
Beth accommodates all kinds of people quite well (myself included), makes everyone feel comfortable, is patient yet stern and can handle a lot of situations. Many guides cannot; it’s a real gift. There was great access to really special and intimate festivals, quality transportation and quality accommodations on the tour. Mike V.
We loved all the special locations on the tour and really enjoyed watching everyone prepare for the singsing festival. Beth’s knowledge is just so in-depth and her contacts are incomparable. And on this tour, I found out that I can do just about anything! Marianne D.
Loved everything about Beth and the Papua New Guinea trip! Beth demonstrated her love of and respect for the wonderful people and amazing culture of Papua New Guinea. She was very sensitive to both the needs of the group and to those of individual travelers. WanderTours provided excellent value and also added extras such as an up close and personal mini singsing and a day trip through beautiful scenery to the smaller but charming Enga SingSing. The company is dedicated to giving their clients a wonderful holiday while being committed to helping them learn as much a possible about this truly unique culture. Papua New Guinea is a true must-see for world travelers. Ed G.
I would recommend a tour with WanderTours in a heartbeat because of Beth’s skill at leading and her treatment of the locals and groups in PNG. The tour was absolutely well-planned and carefully executed. Darlene D.
Beth’s close relationships within PNG are priceless. She is considered “family” which has a tremendous impact on the level of security and quality of service. I can’t imagine a trip to PNG without the ability to get close to the people and the culture through Beth’s connections! I also really enjoyed the active pace and the wide variety of activities and learnings. Kim K.
I recommend this tour if you are interested in cultural experiences. Viewing the singsings and the village visits was very meaningful. Thanks to Beth for an enriching experience! Jani G.
This destination has been on my bucket list for years! It was great to see how people live in other parts of the world. I came away from the tour with more compassion for others. I also enjoyed the size of the group and the compatability of everyone on the tour. Gayle B.
The singsings in the Hagan area and sharing headlamps, shoes, etc, to those who have so little was very meaningful. This was a great experience and I can’t recommend it enough. Kim G.
We very much enjoyed traveling with you all, and even though we initially were wary about being on a tour, we were pleasantly surprised by how much fun we had! And we really appreciated Beth and the wonderful job she did in creating such a great tour! Bob M. and Judy F.
It was a wonderful experience traveling with each of you, such a delightful group of people. Thanks to Beth and the entire group for making it a truly amazing and memorable trip! Kenda S.
I sooooo enjoyed the PNG trip!! It is an all-time favorite, a close #2 just a hair behind my favorite vacation of all time – our first African safari – to Kenya and Tanzania. Ray F.
Thanks for organizing a beyond-all-expectations trip! It could not have been better in any way. Debbie B.
I loved our trip to PNG. From the canoes on the Sepik, the spirit houses, incredible singsings, countryside and intimate day in Tari. Beth’s knowledge of the local customs, culture and history coupled with the relationships of the locals added great value to the tour. Recommend highly to the adventuresome traveler. Thank you for (the) wonderful memories. Robin L.
What an amazing experience! We return home from Papua New Guinea full of memories that will last a lifetime. Lynne H. and Tony G.
Don’t stop what you are doing. You are a five-star organization. Ruth S.
I have gone on two co-ed trips–one to Papua New Guinea with Beth as leader and one to Bhutan that she organized but was not present. Both were very well organized with opportunities to meet local people. Both emphasized cultural activities/ceremonies which make each place unique. Good people in the groups. We usually don’t travel with groups, but in these two countries you really need to. Beth does her research and you see the most interesting aspects of a place, safely, staying in local, nice accommodations. Peggy M.
I recommend this tour because of Beth’s local, long-term connections in PNG, which have endeared her to them. The fact that she had so many local contacts in place made the logistics go well (plus, they were delightful, welcoming and knowledgeable). I LOVED being on the Sepik and stopping to visit different villages. And of course the singsings were brilliant. Katie S.
Absolutely recommend this tour! It delivered more than my expectations – photo opportunities, contact with local people, quality of food and of course Beth’s leadership. Beth is extremely well organized as well as an effective leader. She understated the tour offerings and handled all situations competently, effectively, and professionally all the while letting clients have the freedom to be themselves. Allen H.
I especially enjoyed our river time (visiting with and staying with people along the river). And as impressive as the shows were, this time of being with real people living real lives was most meaningful to me.The cumulative experience of seeing different ways of life, different perspectives on relationships and relational interactions, and different approaches to the questions of life in practice was very meaningful to me. It is not often that we have the opportunity to explore ways of life that are so very different from our North American/Western European norms and (get a chance) to see that these other approaches are valuable in their own right. Carol S.
Beth was terrific with arrangements and travelers’ needs and her knowledge and enthusiasm for PNG and its people was infectious. Stephen C.
