I thought our guide was fantastic and the hotels were amazing. I think it was worth every penny. India is not a place I would have ever considered navigating on my own. I felt like we got a first class seat in an unbelievable country. I think overall what sticks in my mind is watching the artisans. Seeing all the amazing historical relics was also top on my list. Plus being with such a great group of women made it so much fun. I felt so taken care of. I feel like Beth has the experience and the contacts to make any trip great. Sarah B.
Beth does a great job with her tours. I appreciate her in-depth planning and preparation. Really like the choice of places to visit as well as the terrific group of ladies! Something very, very special about the Tea Country! Nirmala (local tour guide) was a great addition to this trip – she was so genuine and I loved how she wanted to show us “her” India! I also appreciate the group of women we were with – such a lovely group! Jane H.
So many things worked well for this tour! Manisha was incredible. The other in-country guides were also wonderful. I loved the unbelievably vast variety of experiences most of all. Any variations in the published itinerary brought delightful surprises and meaningful experiences. I felt that there was so much effort put into making every single day as special as possible and there were so many moments on the trip that were heart and soul touching. Our group being drawn into the very middle of a Jain family temple procession right on the street and being enveloped in that dancing, laughing, colorful joy was an experience that left me literally shaking with happy energy! Beth curated what was for me the trip of a lifetime. Stacey C.
There was a great group of women on the tour and having Beth along was great – she took care of so many details and did it all seemingly effortlessly. She has a knack for making sure that any requests are dealt with quickly and cheerfully and seems to always have her finger on the pulse of the group. It would not have been the same trip without her. Susan T.
The planning and organization of the trip was excellent. I personally liked that there was NOT a lot of down time. For me the pace of seeing and doing A LOT was perfect! The variety included in the itinerary was superb. Excellent (local) tour guide, Nirmala! Beth had a great balance of professionalism combined with a personal touch. She did a good job of mingling, showing interest in us, concern for our safety and well-being, AND passing around snacks. Jane A.
Having professionals handle the whole trip worked so well. I don’t see how this trip would be as good if I tried to do it on my own. I really enjoyed visiting the Jain Temples, the Step Wells really blow me away, the safaris were excellent and, of course, the textiles were awesome. Gujarat Tour – Diane G.
Jessica, our local tour guide, was knowledgeable and fun to be with. She had EVERYTHING taken care of. The tour was well done – everything was organized, on time and professional. The pre- and post-tour followup was excellent. This was my 74th country and there is no other like it. It’s chaotic, depressing, beautiful and worth the trip! Pat B.
Jessica, our local tour guide, was terrific. I loved our small group and the variety of experiences, especially the tour of the women’s charity in Jodhpur. The tour was very well-organized and it was terrific to have door-to-door chauffeur service and personalized guide services. Kathy M.
The quality of the accommodation was excellent, our guide (Jessica) was fantastic and there was a quality and range of experiences. Victoria B.
My WanderTour to India far exceeded my expectations and it sure beat the “sanitized” style of other tour companies! Carole S.
India was amazing. Beth is an amazing person and I’m so glad to have met her. She lives life to the fullest and cares so much about people, especially those less fortunate than her. Beth’s organizational skills and professionalism was outstanding and I hope to travel with WanderTours again someday. So glad I had this experience! Ellen W.
I want you to know how much I enjoyed myself on our trip. The trip was everything I had hoped for and then some. The Varanasi experience was the highlight of the trip for me. Then the camel ride and also the Taj Mahal. Margaret S.
I enjoyed the company of all of the women on the trip. It was well planned and I can’t think of anything that I would change. Sara I.
The North India tour was a highlight of my life, and I am still so grateful to you for the amazing experience. I really am missing India!! The place totally got under my skin – thank you for introducing me to her. Susan D.G.
I enjoyed the variety of areas visited while sharing the experience with interesting enthusiastic women. It was an easy way to travel with a well-organized itinerary. Carol G.
The whole trip was perfectly planned and executed. Our guide, Jessica, was amazing in that she could solve any unexpected problem and kept us all completely safe at all times. The most meaningful experiences for me were seeing the Taj Mahal and having an unplanned (personal) adventure riding on a tuk tuk at night from the Jodphur market – hilarious! Catherine O.
Yes, great hotels, food, travel guides, small tours, all combined to be worth the total cost.I really enjoyed meeting up with women who were on other tours that I have been on and of course meeting new friends that I am sure I will see again. Thanks for making traveling to exotic places fun, interesting and safe. Ellen W.
Looking back on the trip – it was an amazing experience. The trip would not have been as wonderful nor meaningful without our local guide. She was professional, personable, caring and imparted so much information to us. Kim S.
I love that Beth curates these trips with women specifically in mind. The connections we were able to make with women in other countries, and our fellow American travelers, was unique. We were able to learn first hand how life is for the women of this region of India and exchange experiences that will affect us all for our lifetimes. We cooked, danced, played dress-up, shopped, talked and laughed together. Genuine, companionable laughter with women in other countries makes my heart sing. We may not speak each other’s language, but the emotions are universal. Stacey C.
I really liked the size and makeup of the group. I liked the variety of what we did, some cultural (from tour of slums, train ride, to salt making, to listening to Manisha (guide) talk about Gujarat, museums, the cooking lesson and more), some wildlife, some awesome sights (the temples and the Taj Mahal), the insight into the small village life, beautiful textiles and crafts (and seeing them being made), and a variety of accommodations (some more luxurious than I really needed, but fun). The food overall was tasty and had lots of choices. I came home a bit overwhelmed and now I want to visit even more of India! Audrey W.
I loved all of the surprises that weren’t part of the itinerary. I enjoyed the mix of activities, sights, sounds, people, nature, venues, lodging, tour guides – I could go on and on. So many experiences were meaningful – the contrast of life in the U.S. versus life in India, the warmth of the people we interacted with in India, the safaris, the colors. As a repeat customer, need I say more! Joanne M.
Beth is the best and a true professional who cared about each and every one of us. Laurie K.
This tour was amazing and exceeded my expectations. Lauren V.
