Bhutan

The group was the nicest tour group I have traveled with and it is a testament to Beth’s company that she attracts such fun and warm-hearted people. Louise C.

WanderTours offers unique and varied destinations and has the best tour guides and host! I enjoyed experiencing
the uniqueness of Bhutan, its people and how the Buddhist religion is interwoven into their lives. Tobgay, our tour guide is one of the best tour guides in the world! Joanne M.

Well, as this was my fifth tour with Beth, it’s pretty obvious that I love the way she organizes a tour and only have high praise for her to others! The organization of activities, even though it was a lot,  still flowed and we were able to make the most of our time. Climbing to Tiger’s Nest was the best experience, even though it was extremely difficult for me.
Ellen W.

It is very clear from the tours that I have been on that the itinerary is well thought out, there is care in the details and the country partners represent Beth well. I’m honored to be a part of Beth’s legacy of travel and hope to emulate her good will. Thank you for what you do ~ making the world more accessible, while enjoying like-minded travelers! Robin LB.

It was VERY nice to have everything essentially taken care of for me…my schedule would never have allowed me to go otherwise. I did especially enjoy traveling with women that have similar travel interests and experiences and would highly recommend it to anyone who has a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world. One of the highlights was to meet new people that I really enjoyed being with and could even possibly travel with in the future. Marcia K.

The longer I have had to be back and ruminate about the tour, the more I love our group, and everything we learned and all the sights we saw and things we did. The hiking was amazing and gorgeous. There was plenty of hot delicious food and tea-coffee at every stop. Kinley Zan our Bhutanese guide and Gembo, our driver, were spectacular! I was extremely impressed by their skill, true desire to make our trip memorable, comfortable and fun! I felt that they sincerely enjoyed their work and wanted us to have a great time. I enjoyed all the hotels, even the wood burning stove ones which I thought I would hate, I loved! Susan M.

I knew I wanted to travel with Beth to this country that she knows so well. It was a valuable investment for memories that will last a lifetime. I have very rarely taken tours, but this one with Beth made a believer of me. I hope to join her on future trips! Ann G.

This trip brings tears when I think about it. It truly was life changing. I have never felt so much at peace as I did in Bhutan. Bhutan fills my heart with love of all the wonderful people that I was privileged to meet. Because of this trip, I want to live my life through and with Buddhism. I have found so many answers to my life questions with Buddhism. I am continuing to read and study and attempt to fill my life with the peace and happiness that Buddhism reflects. Thank you Beth for all you are and all you have done for me. Sharyn K.

I think a good trip is when your guide looks like they aren’t working all the time and can enjoy the adventures with the group. Joslin did all her work outside of our day and I think it’s very good she was there. Dawne J.

I got my courage from your Bhutan trip and it builds, little by little, as a result. Mona P.

My tour to Bhutan stands out because of the small group and exceptional destination. It was at least as good as the best I’ve experienced. Thank you for a truly magical time! Jan H.

I was very happy with my whole WanderTours experience – pre, during and post trip. I found the itinerary to be organized and very interesting. Our accommodations were lovely and the food was of course incredible. Thank you for making my trip to Bhutan so memorable. Heather O.

Everything about the trip was beyond my expectations. Beth was so good and made accommodations for everyone’s needs, which was much appreciated. She was upbeat and positive even when things didn’t go as planned. Barbara P.

Connecting with the locals provided an insight that would have otherwise been missed…a truly wonderful experience. Rise C.

Kinley (local guide) is a remarkable woman. She actually was one of the highlights of this trip. Not only did I make a new friend in her, but she was extremely informative, had an answer to all questions, made sure we were as comfortable as we could have been, and I think the fact she was a female tour guide was amazing in itself. Kylie H.

It’s the Holy Grail of any trip to have the chance to sit down and chat with locals outside the tourist bubble. Karen M.

As they say, in a world gone mad, there is always Bhutan. Larry B.

I was really impressed by and valued all the information [the WanderTours team] gave us to prepare for the tour, the tips on various in-country details and the thoughtfulness and coordination of the places visited. Mary Jane R.

Thank you
so much, Beth, for creating this wonderful and special opportunity for
all of us, and for so skillfully leading us through it. Orna L.

Over all experience of this Bhutan trip was simply AWESOME. I would recommend this trip to any ladies who may be reluctant to visit unfamiliar locations. Susan K.

Thank you once again for organizing such a fabulous trip that really couldn’t have been much better. Everything was perfect… I have many wonderful memories to last a lifetime. Kathy S.

Beth, you have the right attitude, vibe. Keep leading tours! Jayne K.

I was so impressed with how much Beth and all the people who touched our trip showed care and concern for my welfare at every turn we took. There aren’t many tours that care so much! It’s all in the leader who sets the standard. Zandra W.

We had a great time on our trip, as you had mentioned it is a magical place to visit. The kind of destination that sticks with you and makes you want to return for more. As I mentioned before we are working out details to join you on the trekking trip this fall. Kinda says it all doesn’t it? Tobgay was a fantastic guide. As you have most likely heard he is very personable and made sure that everyone’s needs were taken care of. Mike H.

This was a great and fun trip. Compared to others I’ve taken:

  • Much more fun – great group of women, with enough similar values to feel at ease for 2 weeks
  • Longer duration – although I could easily have stayed another week or two to explore northern or eastern Bhutan!
  • Women only – very relaxed, refreshing way to experience a place; I liked it!
  • Women guides – wonderful
  • Fantastic bus – wall-to-wall windows allowed great sight-seeing; cleaned every night; comfortable seats; microphone helped a lot
  • More interactive – I think because it was all women, and also because there were so many solo travelers—it made for making friends quickly and easily, and we all mixed it up a lot at meals, during hikes, on free time, etc.
  • More flexible – I loved that we had some flexibility to take advantage of opportunities as they came along: meeting with the Rimpoche; Sunday Paro Market, etc. Sue A.

A great group of women were on the tour – no drama! The local guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We got to experience a lot of Bhutan and had great hotels. Tobgay and Chemmy (guide and driver) were the best! I like WanderTours as they go places many other travel companies do not. Barb C.

Preparations before the tour, Tobgay as a guide and meeting the other participants all worked well on this tour. Highlights were the walk in the forest to the monastery, meeting with the lama, receiving blessings, the Bumthang festival (which felt personal and participatory), and walking to Tiger’s Nest. Laura B.

The interesting mix of women who chose to take this same trip at the same time was great! I had a lovely discussion of Buddhist, Christian and Hindu theology with a pair of fourth-grade twin (Bhutanese) girls at the Thimphu festival. Their English was exceptional, and their thoughts, knowledge and questions were deep and meaningful. It was a special, one-of-a-kind experience. I like WanderTours because of their style of travel, which is more personal than the typical tour company. Carol S-A.

The most meaningful experience for me was hanging the prayer flags overlooking the mountains. Also, Tobgay was a fantastic guide! Brooke R.
