How to Apply for a Visa: Brazil
Citizens visiting Brazil from the U.S., Canada and Australia can apply for a tourist e-Visa online. The visa is valid for a stay up to 90 days within a 12-month period. On arrival, you will need to present your passport (valid for one month beyond your entry date) and a printed version of your eVisa.
The e-Visa fee is $80 (plus a $.90 processing fee) and is valid for multiple entries over 10 years. It typically takes about five business days to process, but it is advised to apply sooner should you be asked to provide additional documentation or correct any information.
Required Documents
- A digital copy of your U.S. passport .
- A recent, passport-style photo. Please use this link to see the photo requirements for your visa.
- Proof of your travel plans (round-trip flight itinerary).
Complete and submit your application through the official Brazil VFS Global eVisa Portal.
NOTE: Only fill out the required fields on the application.
- Use this format for your birthday DAY/MONTH/YEAR
- Enter your phone number without dashes: i.e. 1235938421
- The additional documents section can be left blank.
- In the Legal Representative field, you can select “No.”
You will see in some visa information that you are need to show that you have at least $2,000 USD to support your trip. While rare, Brazilian border agents do legally have the right to ask for proof of sufficient funds and accommodation upon entry, so you may want to bring a printed copy of your latest bank statement.
