A Photo Tour of Magical Papua New Guinea

WanderTours > Blog > Blog > A Photo Tour of Magical Papua New Guinea

December 17, 2013 //  by Pat Awmack

Papua New Guinea is one of the most fascinating, diverse and least explored countries in the world and we love sharing it with our tour participants. We felt the best way to introduce you to this amazing experience is through a series of photos.

We travel to PNG with a small group for a more intimate experience.

Everyone gets a kick out of posing with the Huli Wigmen in Tari.

The Mt. Hagen Sing Sing is a gathering of approximately 75 tribes from around the country. On the day prior to this event our group will attend a mini sing sing featuring roughly 10 tribal groups. This smaller venue gives us a wonderful opportunity for photos as we watch a courting ceremony, a demonstration of traditional fighting and a wedding ceremony. We’ll also taste traditionally prepared food, baked in an underground oven. The next day is the big show!

We’ll explore the Sepik River area where we’ll spend a night in a home stay. You’ll have a great opportunity to purchase art in the region.

Many return from PNG feeling like they’ve lived the experience of a lifetime. If you’d like to join us on our Mt. Hagen Show Cultural Tour, give us a call at 206-317-1860 or contact us via email!

Embrace life,

Pat
