What people are saying about their WanderTours experience

I got my courage from your Bhutan trip and it builds, little by little, as a result. Mona P. (Bhutan – 2009)

We did have a great trip and Beth is a wonderful tour manager. I’ve been on a few other tours and never met or knew the person who actually was the owner. Her personal care and interest in every aspect makes it a very special way of traveling. Honey S. (Seattle – 2014)

*****

I was so impressed with how much Beth and all the people who touched our trip showed care and concern for my welfare at every turn we took. There aren’t many tours that care so much! It’s all in the leader who sets the standard. Zandra W. (Bhutan – 2013)

I’m a True Traveler – (capital letters intentional).  Well over 50 countries.  Luckily, traveling’s one of the best things I do. Two years ago, Beth told me that the trip to Papua New Guinea with WanderTours would be my best. Of course, I was skeptical.  But guess what?  She was absolutely right!!!!  My very best trip – by far!   Tribal culture, birds and plants and animals, a little intimidation (not too much), beauty, history, costumes, singing, dancing, language – all – well, not merely “interesting” – more WOW, spectacular!   So, don’t hesitate!  Just go!!!!! Phyl C. (Papua New Guinea – 2012)

Thank you again for running a company that helps people explore communities in other parts of the world. I didn’t just go on vacation with WanderTours. I was immersed in the communities, met the people, and received such an education from spending time with them. I am forever grateful for all of the experiences you facilitated me having by running such an amazing company. Laila P. (Vietnam – 2014)

The tour was wonderful! The itinerary was well organized and allowed us to see everything that Vietnam has to offer! Very thoughtful programs, thank you! Krisztina S. (Vietnam – 2014)

Thank you for all you do to get people out and about to see and experience this amazing planet we live on. There’s nothing as educational, mind-opening nor life-changing-for-the-better as breaking away to travel someplace very different than is considered “the norm.”  Dream big and act accordingly!  – Sandy F.

My tour to Bhutan stands out because of the small group and exceptional destination. It was at least as good as the best I’ve experienced.  Thank you for a truly magical time! Jan H. (Bhutan – Fall 2013)

The itinerary was well thought out and paced. Beth managed to corral us gently and firmly (not easy with 15 lively women!) and gave us clear directions and information. She showed concern and care for every member of the group. Eve T. (Santa Fe – 2013)

Looking back on the trip – it was an amazing experience. The trip would not have been as wonderful nor meaningful without our in-country guide. She was professional, personable, caring and imparted so much information to us. – Kim S. (South India 2013)

This trip brings tears when I think about it. It truly was life changing. I have never felt so much at peace as I did in Bhutan. Bhutan fills my heart with love of all the wonderful people that I was privileged to meet. Beth makes certain that her group keeps safe and does not do foolish things (like not watching where they are going, thus tripping on whatever they stumble upon). She is like a Mother Hen with all of her chicks. Ha ha!! I forget the driver’s name, but he is the best driver I have ever met. There is no way I would tackle those roads and with seven women in the van. The man needs a medal. Specifically because of this trip, I want to live my life through and with Buddhism. I have found so many answers to my life questions with Buddhism. I am continuing to read and study and attempt to fill my life with the peace and happiness that Buddhism reflects. Thank you Beth for all you are and all you have done for me. –  Sharyn K. (Bhutan Buddhism Tour)

Loved everything about Beth and the Papua New Guinea trip…On my trip to Papua New Guinea, Beth demonstrated her love of and respect for the wonderful people and amazing culture of Papua New Guinea. She was very sensitive to both the needs of the group and to those of individual travelers.

WanderTours provided excellent value and also added extras such as an up close and personal mini SingSing and a day trip through beautiful scenery to the smaller but charming Enga SingSing. The company is dedicated to giving their clients a wonderful holiday while being committed to helping them learn as much a possible about this truly unique culture.

Papua New Guinea is a true must-see for world travelers. Ed G. (Papua New Guinea Tour)

The longer I have had to be back and ruminate about the tour, the more I love our group, and everything we learned and all the sights we saw and things we did. The hiking was amazing and gorgeous, There was plenty of hot delicious food, and tea-coffee at every stop. Kinley Zan our Bhutanese guide and Gembo, our driver, were spectacular! I was extremely impressed by their skill, true desire to make our trip memorable, comfortable and fun! I felt that they sincerely enjoyed their work, and wanted us to have a great time.

I enjoyed all the hotels, even the wood burning stove ones which I thought I would hate, I loved! – Susan M. (Bhutan Buddhism Tour)

My WanderTour to India far exceeded my expectations and it sure beat the “sanitized” style of other tour companies! Carole S. (India Tour)

The trip far exceeded my expectations. I have to admit, not having signed up for a tour before, I was a little concerned about how it would go. I did not expect the depth of knowledge and professionalism we experienced. All of [the guides] were engaged, insightful and instructive. So often, you can sense a jadedness and condescension among tour guides that is a turn off, to say the least. I returned to Seattle wanting to know even more about Santa Fe and that’s the way it should be (at least in my opinion).

Of course, for me, the real “take away” was the story of the Native Americans in that part of our country. I have a renewed appreciation for who they are, the struggles they endured and resilience they have – quite remarkable!

I appreciated the opportunity to meld with the other group members and get to know them. The group dynamics were great and it was an extra bonus to connect with each of them. Mary F. (Santa Fe Tour)

It was VERY nice to have everything essentially taken care of for me…my schedule would never have allowed me to go otherwise.

I did especially enjoy traveling with women that have similar travel interests and experiences and would highly recommend it to anyone who has a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world. One of the highlights was to meet new people that I really enjoyed being with and could even possibly travel with in the future. Marcia K. (Bhutan Tour)

Beth is an absolute gem. She is sweet and was very attentive, always making sure everyone’s needs were met. The tour was wonderful; every guide along the way was well informed, willing to share, and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend Beth and her tour company. – Ingrid B. (Santa Fe Tour)

Kinley [in-country guide] is a remarkable woman. She actually was one of the highlights of this trip. Not only did I make a new friend in her, but she was extremely informative, had an answer to all questions, made sure we were as comfortable as we could have been, and I think the fact she was a female tour guide was amazing in itself. Kylie H . (Bhutan Tour)

We had a great time on our trip, as you had mentioned it is a magical place to visit. The kind of destination that sticks with you and makes you want to return for more. As I mentioned before we are working out details to join you on the trekking trip this fall. Kinda says it all doesn’t it?

Tobgay was a fantastic guide. As you have most likely heard he is very personable and made sure that everyone’s needs were taken care of. Mike H. (2 Bhutan Tours)

This was a great and fun trip. Compared to others I’ve taken:

  • Much more fun – great group of women, with enough similar values to feel at ease for 2 weeks
  • Longer duration - although I could easily have stayed another week or two to explore northern or eastern Bhutan!
  • Women only – very relaxed, refreshing way to experience a place; I liked it!
  • Women guides – wonderful
  • Fantastic bus – wall-to-wall windows allowed great sight-seeing; cleaned every night; comfortable seats; microphone helped a lot
  • More interactive – I think because it was all women, and also because there were so many solo travelers—it made for making friends quickly and easily, and we all mixed it up a lot at meals, during hikes, on free time, etc.
  • More flexible – I loved that we had some flexibility to take advantage of opportunities as they came along: meeting with the Rimpoche; Sunday Paro Market, etc. Sue A. (Bhutan Tour)
